Every year as the clock nears midnight on December 31st, the eyes of the world turn once more to the dazzling lights and bustling energy of Times Square. New Year’s Eve at the symbolic center of New York City has become more than just a celebration – it’s a global tradition.
This year is particularly wonderful at temperatures of 49 degress is making it a most pleasant atmosphere. Wastching the live broadcast on TV, with Kelly, Hammer and Greg Gutfeld from Fox News, it is a pleasure and we feel part of the celebrations.
The world holds its breath…and cheers as the clocks strike twelve.
From the comfort of our home, prepared caviar, platter of imported chees and a chilled bottle of Veuve Clicquot, we are thrilled to be watching the old year pass with the count down of the beautiful crystal ball in Times Square in the most wonderful city in the world – NEW YORK NEW YORK – A city so fantastic they had to name it twice!
As the famous New Year’s Eve Ball descends from the flagpole atop One Times Square, we and an estimated one million people in Times Square, millions nationwide and over a billion watching throughout the world are united in bidding a collective farewell to the departing year, and expressing our joy and hope for the year ahead.
We were entertained by star-studded musical performances by Trace Atkins, Rock of Ages and others, balloons, pom-poms, confetti, a colorful pyrotechnic display watching it from the warmth of our home. A wonderful yearly tradition.
