No matter what New York City neighborhood you’re in during the holiday season, you’re sure to be impressed by the festive lights and decorations that mark the holiday season.
Chrismas in New York is a magical experience for young and old. New York leads the way in capturing the essence of the joys of Christmas.
Although I must admit this is in the most commercial way possible. As long as one does not ponder too much on the fact that the real meaning of Christmas is lost, but only focus and enjoy all the beautiful decorations and lighted trees adorning every street, one gets caught up in the buzz and excitement as everbody jostles for position on the sidewalks and getting a closer look at all the creative window displays.
From the Radio City Christmas Spectacular to Messiah sings at New York City Churches, these Christmas shows and events are sure to fill you with holiday spirit.
As ’tis the season to make money, there is an abundance of holiday fairs, food vendors, Nigerians selling from their black garbage bags, halal food vendor aromas competing with upscale restaurants, costumed characters posing for tips – all fun and in the spirit of making a buck.
And then of course the presence of New York’s finest can be seen on every corner, keeping an eye in keeping order.
